Middle School with Ms. WardMath and Religion
A little bit about me…. I am originally from NY. After graduating from SUNY at Potsdam College, I began teaching math at Suffern High School in Suffern, NY. My next teaching stop was Londonderry, NH, with short stays in NYC, Raynham, MA and Grayslake, IL. I eventually landed in Hagerstown, and after staying home to raise my daughters, I began teaching math and religion here at SMCS in 2004. Some of my interests include reading, working out, attending MSO concerts, sampling all things food (and ice cream!), and spending time with family and friends.Ms. Ward

Welcome to my homepage!
I am very excited about teaching math and religion to my new 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students here at St. Mary Catholic School! The students have many new things to learn this year, and I feel truly blessed and honored to be their teacher.
We are using the comprehensive Saxon Math program in the 5th, and 6th grades, and the new Big Ideas Math for 7th grade. Each series includes various examples, new concepts, and lots of written practice. Students are required to have sharpened pencils, copybook, looseleaf paper and folder for class.
The 6th, 7th and 8th grade religion classes will follow our new Christ Our Life series. I will reference the Bible and the Catechism throughout the year. Required materials for class include copybook, pen and folder. We are pleased to be using Chromebooks in the middle school grades this year as well!

Prayer for Parents
Lord, our God, thank you for the gift of this child. Thank you for your faith in me. You have entrusted him/her to my care, to bring up for You. Help me to know Your presence and to trust in Your support for me. Help me to bring my child into full and eternal experience of You. Teach me what to give and what to withhold; when to praise and when to admonish. Make me gentle, yet firm; freedom giving, yet watchful. Help me always to love and affirm this child whom you love so much. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
