St. Mary Catholic School Music Program
An appreciation of the richness of our musical heritage is fostered through music classes.
Student vocal talent is showcased at Christmas plays, spring productions as well as other times. The school chorus sings at each monthly school Mass planned by the teachers and their students. Students in grades four through eight may sing in the SMCS chorus. Guitar and piano lessons are offered to interested students. In 2011 instrumental music was added to our music program. Students in grades four through eight can take group lessons and be a member of the band. Programs include instrumental Christmas Caroling, talent show performance, and a Spring Concert.
For the health and safety of our students and staff, singing and the use of instruments are prohibited at this time. However, Miss McNeil is fostering a deep appreciation for the basics of music in her music classes so that when we are able to lift our voices in song once again, St. Mary Catholic School students will be ready!
