St. Mary Catholic School offers a competitive and forward thinking technology initiative to students.  Currently, students in grades 3-8 have access to an iPad on a 1:1 basis and grades K-2 share  a mobile cart.  SMCS implemented its iPad program in 2013. Approximately, 150 Pads are currently in circulation at SMCS.  Moving into the future, our 1:1 program is introducing Google Chromebooks to the curriculum. These Chromebooks will move on with the student until ultimately being property of the student upon graduation. Although iPads are very intuitive and beneficial to younger grades using more app driven activities, Chromebooks offer our older grades greater productivity.  Access to Google Drive  allows students to create full documents, spreadsheets, or presentations. Ultimately, our students will have exposure to both devices, offering a well-rounded foundation for their future.

St. Mary Catholic School students will be participating in our Race 4 Technology on May 10, 2018.

Funds raised in support of this event will be used to support our existing 1:1 iPad program, kick off our new Google Chromebook initiative, and replace older model SMART Boards in classrooms.
