Mrs. Barger’s Science and Math

Our science curriculum is integrated. Each grade level will continue to study a specific branch of science but with more integration from the other branches of science. This will be apparent as you look through your child’s textbook. Science 6 will be investigating Earth Science.  Science 7 will be learning about Life Science. Science 8 will be studying Physical Science. Math 4 will use the Saxon Math Program and begin the year by reinforcing addition, subtraction and place value. We will continue with many skills including: multiplication, division, and word problems.  Math 8 will begin the year working with variables, expressions and integers. Daily homework will be assigned. Students should have the homework written in their planner; it may also be found on my Math 8 web page. Additional resources may be found by visiting: www.connected.mcgraw-hill.com Middle School students have access to this site and www.SaxonMath.com/pd. Wish list – scissors for the students to cut fabric, candy for student incentives, liquid hand soap, Clorox wipes, inside recess games. You may contact me, Mary K. Barger, with any concerns or comments by clicking on my email address.

A field trip is planned for the 4th grade for next Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017.
